South Gloucestershire Council has successfully prosecuted a waste carrier for allowing waste from one of its vehicles to spill onto the A4174 Ring Road. North Avon magistrates fined Bristol Waste Management £1,500, ordered the firm to pay £1,000 towards the Council’s clean-up costs, and also pay the Council’s full legal costs of £1,020. Bones found on M5 slip road (Falfield)
Police have confirmed that bones found in bushes beside the slip road at junction 14 of the M5 are human. They cannot say what is the sex or age of the remains, or how long the bones had been there. Crime scene investigators are continuing their work at the scene, while uniformed officers conduct a search of the surrounding area.
