Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident in Stoke Gifford, South Gloucestershire when a man was allegedly threatened with a machete.

It happened just before 11am on Tuesday, December 1 at Mead Park in Hatchet Road. Police say the road was busy with traffic at the time.

The man was prevented from driving into the car park at Mead Park by another vehicle that was blocking the entrance.

There was an altercation between him and a man in a caravan parked nearby who, it’s claimed, threatened him the machete. The first man got back in his car and drove off.

The man with the machete is described as white, in his mid-30s, about 5ft 10ins tall with ginger or brown hair. He was wearing a grey T-shirt and blue jogging bottoms and black trainers. He was clean shaven and had two prominent front teeth.

The machete was about 18 inches long and rusty with a hook at the end. It has not been found.
