Appeal after serious road traffic collision (Coalpit Heath)

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a road traffic collision on Monday 15th March 2010.

The incident occurred on Badminton Road, Coalpit Heath at around 7pm.

The collision involved a cyclist and a silver Mercedes Vito panel van and happened about 25-50 meters away from Southview Crescent and opposite Woodend Road.

The cyclist is currently in a serious condition in Frenchay Hospital.

Anyone who was in the area at the time is asked to contact the road policing unit at Almondsbury on 0845 456 7000. Alternatively, call the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Fatal collision on M5 – appeal for witnesses

Police are appealing for information from drivers about a fatal collision on the M5 in South Gloucestershire this morning, Thursday, January 28.

A lorry driver was killed at around 7am when he got out of his cab on the hard shoulder and was hit by another lorry and possibly two others.

The collision happened southbound between junctions 14 and 15, Falfield to Almondsbury.

Police are treating the area as a crime scene and have closed lanes one and two. But lane three remains open to ease traffic congestion.

Police want anyone who may have seen what happened, or can help identify the three lorries, to contact them on 0845 456 7000.

Teenager dies after collision (Kingswood)

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a fatal road traffic collision in Kingswood.

The incident occurred on Monday 25th January 2010 at around 5.45pm in Soundwell Road at the junction with Leicester Square.

A motocycle was in collision with a Ford Mondeo.

The motorcyclist died later in hospital. He has been named as 16-year-old Brendon Smith of Kingswood.

Anyone who was in the area at the time or witnessed the incident is asked to contact the collision investigation unit on 0845 456 7000.

Woman dies after car plunges into pond

A woman has died following a single vehicle road traffic collision (RTC) on a stretch of rural road in South Gloucestershire.

Fire crews from Yate and Bath fire stations were called after reports that a car had left the road and finished partially submerged in a large pond in King Lane, Inglestone Common, Horton.

Firefighters recovered a female casualty, but despite efforts to revive her she was later pronounced dead. The deceased was believed to be in her 40s.

A Swift Water Rescue Team from Bath Fire Station also attended the incident and entered the pond in dry suits to make a full search for other casualties. No other casualties were found in during the search and no one else was injured in the incident.
