Overnight road closures at M32 junction 1 and Coldharbour Lane

A number of overnight road closures have been scheduled for the M32 junction 1 and Coldharbour Lane during September.

The closures take place between 8pm and 6am and form part of work to increase road capacity and improve traffic flow prior to completion of the showcase bus corridor scheme in Spring 2012.

On the M32 junction 1, the northbound slip road from the ring road onto junction 1 of the M32 will be closed on 8th, 9th, 10th, 22nd, 23rd and 24th September for resurfacing works. Temporary diversion routes will be clearly signed.

Coldharbour Lane will also be closed on 5th, 6th and 7th September for resurfacing works, again with clear temporary diversions. On 19th, 20th and 21st September there will be lane closures at Coldharbour Lane but the road will still be accessible to traffic.

Road diversions for M32 junction 1:

  • Traffic will be diverted down the M32 to Junction 2 (Muller Road), and then northbound onto the M32 towards Hambrook.

Road diversion for Coldharbour Lane:

  • Ring road traffic travelling eastbound approaching Coldharbour Lane will not be allowed to turn right into Coldharbour Lane. They will be sent down to the Hambrook Junction to turn right into the B4058 (Frenchay Park Road) then directed right into Stoke Lane and up to the UWE roundabout which will remain open.
  • Ring Road Traffic travelling westbound approaching Coldharbour Lane will not be allowed to turn left into Coldharbour Lane they will be sent straight over along to the Abbeywood roundabout to turn around and then follow the eastbound diversion detailed above.
  • Traffic exiting UWE will be directed south down Coldharbour Lane and back along Frenchay Park road up to the Hambrook Junction then left to the M32 Junction.
