Grimsbury Farm in Kingswood is being transformed into a working farm.

Owned and run by South Gloucestershire Council for the benefit of residents, the farm will soon be producing food that will be sold to the local community.

A new farm manager, Stuart Jay, and assistant Vicky Edwards, have been taken on to help Grismbury become a working farm.

Councillor Heather Goddard, executive member for communities, said: “Grimsbury Farm is going from strength to strength and is a really important part of the local community and welcomes visitors from far and wide.”

Sheep are also kept on the farm and the Warmley Tower Weavers have been using wool from them as part of their work.

The farm is supported by the Friends of Grimsbury Farm, a volunteer group drawn from local residents. “They work very hard and make an important contribution to the success of the farm and the Council is very grateful for their efforts,” said councillor Goddard.

A special open day at the farm is taking place on Saturday 19 September.

Entry to the farm is free and it is open every day of the year, from dawn until dusk.
