Suspected cannabis seized in raids (Yate and Cadbury Heath)

Police have seized around 50 suspected cannabis plants, with a potential street value up to £50,000, in a raid on a house in Yate.

South Gloucestershire officers, supported by specialist firearms officers, searched the property on Thursday 2nd September.

They recovered plants, hydroponic equipment and a BB gun, and arrested a 31-year-old man, who remains in police custody.

The raid came just a day after the neighbourhood team found suspected cannabis plants at a house in Cadbury Heath.

On Wednesday 1st September neighbourhood officers recovered two full-grown plants and 20 seedlings, with a potential street value up to £22,000 as well as hydroponic equipment.

A 15-year-old boy and a 36-year-old woman were arrested and have been released on police bail pending forensic tests.

Neighbourhood Sergeant Adrian Fallows said: “Information from local people is the key to the success of our Operation Relentless, keeping our streets safe from drugs.
