Police are appealing for information following the murder of 68-year-old Barry George Rubery.

Mr Rubery was found in his Iron Acton home on Latteridge Road at 8am on Wednesday morning with significant head injuries and bruising to his face.

Detective Chief Inspector Garry Reeves said: This investigation remains ongoing and the results of the post mortem are expected shortly.

“At this stage we know that Mr Rubery returned home at 10.45pm on Wednesday night and at 8am on Thursday he was found in his home with significant injuries to his head.

“We need to work out what happened in those missing 9 hours.

“I would now appeal to anyone who knows Mr Rubery or anyone who may have seen him in the hours leading up to his return home to contact us.”

Anyone who may have used the Latteridge road and noticed anything or anyone acting suspiciously on Wednesday night or in the early hours of Thursday is also asked to make contact.

DCI Reeves added: “It does not matter how small you may think your information may be, let us decide as it may be relevant and valuable to this enquiry.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the major crime investigation unit on 0845 456 7000 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
